The meaning of the Ziwei Talisman, yin yang and Bagua

The Ziwei Talisman is associated with the Ziwei Emperor, a Taoist deity linked to the North Star. On this pendant, it gives the sword design its protective symbolism.

Yin yang represents complementary forces. Bagua, the Eight Trigrams, uses combinations of broken and unbroken lines to express yin and yang. Here, Bagua-inspired lines and the yin yang motif add a theme of balance to the Ziwei Talisman’s protective meaning.
